WAVELENGTH is a one-of-a-kind abstract wall sculpture handcrafted from reclaimed wood I have carefully curated for over eight years. Each piece of wood brings its own history, texture, and natural color—resulting in a work that is both visually striking and deeply organic.
The composition features wood pieces that vary in depth and width, creating dimensional movement across the surface. Alternating sections of light and dark tones evoke the rhythm of a color wavelength, giving the piece a sense of flow—almost like light rippling through the wood.
What may be hardest to believe is that none of the colors in this artwork have been stained or painted. Every tone you see is entirely natural, developed through years of exposure, aging, and weathering. Some pieces retain traces of original iron oxide red paint, softened by time into deep burgundy hues. Others once hosted moss and lichen, contributing subtle greens, greys, and earthy browns. By blending multiple species and ages of reclaimed wood, this piece showcases the remarkable palette that nature alone provides.
To preserve the wood while maintaining its raw beauty, the artwork is sealed with a low-VOC, water-based sealer, offering protection without altering the natural finish.
