Geometric Reclaimed Wood Wall Sculpture

Circuit Board is a geometric wood wall sculpture inspired by the intricate pathways and structure of electronic circuit boards. This artwork translates the logic and flow of technology into a tactile, architectural composition built entirely from natural wood.

Designed and handcrafted in my studio, the piece features layered wood elements arranged in intersecting lines, channels, and blocks that echo the visual language of circuitry. From a distance, the work reads as a bold abstract design; up close, the depth, precision, and natural variation of the materials reveal themselves.

This piece is created using a combination of reclaimed and domestic hardwoods, including Black Walnut, White Oak, Red Oak, Sycamore, Elm, Maple, White Ash, Hickory, and Pine. Each species contributes its own grain pattern and tonal character, creating a complex surface that feels both structured and organic.

All color in this artwork is natural. The warm brown tones come from wood aged indoors within barns, varying from light to deep brown depending on species and age. Grey tones result from boards naturally weathered outdoors over time. Hardwoods tend to develop subtle bluish-grey hues, while pine often ages into lighter grey tones. No stains or paints are applied to the wood itself.

The frame is constructed from poplar hardwood and finished in a dark espresso stain to provide contrast and definition. The entire piece is sealed with two coats of low-VOC, water-based satin sealer to protect the wood while preserving its natural texture and appearance.

Made to Order

This artwork is made to order with an estimated 6-week lead time prior to shipping. Because the piece is available in multiple sizes, the circuit board pattern will vary slightly depending on scale. Each version is carefully designed to maintain the same overall visual balance and character as the example shown, while remaining truly one of a kind.

Progress photos are provided for approval before shipping.
